This is an ongoing list of youth ministry needs. If you can help with any of these or have any ideas, just let us know (email).
1. We are always in need of good volunteers.
We have great volunteers here at New Town UMC, but we can always use more! If you have ever served with youth before or wondered if God could use you by working with young people, please let us know. We need teachers, chaperones, drivers, food preparers, musicians, artists, pray-ers, and people who can just be there for youth. Working with youth can be challenging but also one of the most rewarding things you will ever do!
If you're interested in helping out please send Jonathan an email. We'll talk about the possibility of serving with the youth and see if it is a good fit for everyone involved. We'll give you a couple months to try it out and then talk about serving on a more regular basis. Is God calling you to serve?
2. We need two church minivans.
A goal for our youth ministry is to be constantly on the move. Jesus said "Go and make disciples" and it would be a lot easier to obey Him if we had some vans to move all the youth around! We're looking for 7- or 8-passenger minivans in good running condition. If you know of a good deal or would like to donate towards a future purchase, please let us know.
3. We need artists!
We need those...
- with experience in graphic design, including designing logos, flyers, and web content;
- with experience in interior design and decorating, we are always refining the youth room to make it more welcoming and youth friendly;
- with experience in painting, sculpting, drawing, etc. One of our goals is to help the youth to creatively worship God using all of their talents and abilities. Perhaps you could help us go further in our creative worship!
4. We need musicians!
The youth band is comprised of youth who are seeking to use their voices and instruments to glorify God. We need help from those with experience in bands and in leading worship.
